Online Registration and Application
All applications for the CIHLMU PhD Program Medical Research - International Health are directed through an online registration and application portal. For further information on the program and the requirements, please refer to the pages General Information and Requirements on the PhD program homepage prior to proceeding with the online registration and application tool.
The online registration and application tool for all applications for the upcoming PhD term 2018 - 2021 will be activated until February 28, 2018, 12:00 CET.
During of the initial registration you will need to produce a valid email address for the identity verification process. Upon verification and entering the registry, you will be asked to choose a proper password. The application form is self-explanatory, online storable, and can be completed in multiple sessions.
For the completion of the online application form the following documents will need to be uploaded. Please note that accepted upload file formats are PDF and JPEG only. The documents have to be in English or German language, otherwise an official translation into either language has to be added. Important notice: Upload data files may not exceed 5MB per file. If an upload document consists of several pages, the pages have to be merged into one document, e.g. by using the merging option of Adobe.
- University degree certificate (Master, Medical School, or equivalent)
- University degree diploma supplement
- Transcript of Records
- Proof of English language proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, High school or university degree with English as indicated principal teaching language)
- Curriculum Vitae (only the provided template will be accepted; see section in Downloads)
- Research Proposal (only the provided template will be accepted; see section in Downloads)
Please note: Registrations and applications from previous years cannot be transferred into consecutive years!
Letter of Recommendation
All applicants, whether newly applying, already registered, or already having submitted, need to download the standardized Letter of Recommendation from the Downloads section.
First, the applicant has to fill in his personal data, and, very importantly, his application ID number and save the document.
Then, one soft copy containing the above indicated applicant's data has to be handed to each of the two referees that have been indicated in the application from. Next, the referees have to fill in their personal data and the recommendations and send the completed documents from their personal official email-accounts to the email address indicated on the document (email@example.com).
Please note: Letters of Recommendation may be forwarded to our office address only during the application period. Letters arriving beyond this period cannot be processed and taken into consideration.
Formats other than the provided form will not be accepted.
Letters of Recommendation of applicants not accepted for one term will be saved for one year until the application period of the following term and may thus be used in a second application. In order to make use of this service, applicants have to notify the CIHLMU office (firstname.lastname@example.org), providing the name of the applicant, the name of the referee, the previous and the current CIH Registration ID. If the applicant is not repeating the application, the respective Letters of Recommendation will be deleted after the application deadline.
CIHLMU PhD Scholarship
Official citizens of countries defined as Low- and Middle-Income-Countries or researchers of our partner institutions according to the country list within the application-tool may be eligible for a PhD scholarship. The application form for the scholarship is part of the PhD online application form.
